DESIGN WEEK AT THE TRIPOSTAL :
As the nerve centre of the World Design Capital, the Tripostal will be the privileged venue for Design Week.
On Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October without interruption, the Design Week begins with the “Strange Night of Design”, 24 hours of dialogue with the participation of 70 speakers from all over the world. All these testimonials to rethink the role of design in our societies, broadcast on the Tripostal and on social networks.
From the United States to China, Korea, Latin America and Australia, Lille is setting out to meet the world !
Proposed by designers Ruedi and Vera Baur of the Civic City association, in partnership with the French Institute and the World Design Organization.
You can also find at the Tripostal — as part of the Émergences” exhibition which will be held from 10 to 18 October — more than 40 students and young graduates from French and Belgian design schools will present their ideas for a world in transition on contemporary subjects such as artificial intelligence, interculturality, care and safety in public spaces.
Plus, Decathlon with its Sports Mate design exhibition will sketche a link between sport, design and society. This exhibition will be accessible for free at the Tripostal until 15 November.
The Design Week at the Tripostal is also a round table with authors Maylis de Kerangal and Jean Echenoz, meetings and exhibitions on the contribution of design to the present and future in our societies.
POC DESIGN WEEK : The Maisons POC and POC stakeholders have chosen to share their initiatives with the public during Design Week in Lille, La Madeleine and Roubaix. Round tables, visits and workshops will accompany the week. The events are accessible to all, with free entry upon registration on designiscapital.com

In addition to the original productions of Lille Métropole 2020, World Design Capital, many museums and cultural venues in the Hauts-de-France and Belgium offer a programme dedicated to designers and design : the Villa Cavrois in Croix, the Cité des Electriciens in Bruay-la-Buissière, the Cité de la Dentelle et de la Mode in Calais, the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Lille, the FRAC Grand-Large Dunkerque, the Louvre-Lens, the LAM in Villeneuve d’Ascq, the Manufacture de Roubaix, the MUBA and the Fresnoy in Tourcoing and the Labanque de Béthune…
THE KIDS DESIGN WEEK : The children also have their own dedicated programme, organised around activities and workshops that are both fun and pedagogical, to be found at the Tripostal and in the Maisons POC.
DESIGN IS HOSPITALITY : Discovering the World Design Capital also means taking the time to appreciate the good venues. Design is Hospitality is the signature of restaurateurs and shopkeepers who promote design in their restaurants and shops and of designers who open their studios to the public.
